The socially responsible time limit.
A few weeks ago I attended a party/benefit. I partook mostly in the benefits of partying but alas. I challenged a 13 year old to a raffle tickle selling duel and she totally kicked my ass. I thought my winning smile and great rack would break raffle ticket records, but old ladies are intimidated by me and old men are intimidated by their women. Man was the 13 year old right when she said (and I quote), “People are just suckers for kids.” She must be stopped, she is too wise for my own good. I didn’t really plan on getting schooled whilst tipsy but it wasn’t the first time. Note to self: Ugly it up if you want to sell anything to anyone over 40, and being sober won’t hurt either. Also, don’t challenge blonde 13 year olds to anything. Ever.
So, there is a silent auction at the party/benefit. A hairdresser says she will come to me to cut or color my hair. I bid and win at $21(!). I had just gotten my hair cut the week before so I wasn’t in need. But I’m thinking score, right? Well now it’s been like over a month and I want my hair cut colored. Is it too late to call? Should I just write it off as a donation to charity? I imagine my end of the conversation involving a lot of um…uh…uuuum and definitely some nervous laughs. She will most likely audibly roll her eyes and make me feel like a total tool for even bothering to bring the whole thing up. But in the end I will have gotten my hair colored for $21, at least that’s the plan.
For future reference what is the longest I can wait to call in a situation like this? I’m guessing that point passed about 3 weeks ago.
hunt her, find her & make her cut/color your hair.
