Can anyone tell me why answer B is greater before I go postal?

    I think the blood flow to my eyeballs decreased by about 72% when I saw this. Do you really have to find out the answer to this?

    Btw, I really liked your comment. It’s great to find people who can disagree and be reasonable! You made me realize I skimmed over that issue (endorsing on blogs) without really understanding what I wanted to express and I think I said it all wrong! LOL…Oh well, I’m getting chewed out about this issue left and right so I guess it makes up for my haste to post! Sorry for hijacking your comments! :-)

    yes, i have to know how to do this. i’m studying for the gre (sat for grad school) and this one has just stumped me.

    i swear they give you the area of a triangle and want you to answer with the gdp of zambia. they are a cruel, cruel bunch.

    here’s to hoping the country doesn’t get sucked into a shit vortex.

    area of pqs is 45 = b*h/2 = 12 * ps/2
    so ps is 7.5

    pqr is a right triangle so
    12^2 + (7.5 + sr)^2 = 20^2
    (7.5 + sr)^2 = 256
    7.5 + sr = 16
    sr = 8.5

    sr is bigger the ps
